I watch leaves
Falling to ground, different colors
Rainbow on ground,

I watch leaves falling
To ground, birds stop singing, only
Pattering music of leaves,

I watch purple leaves
Falling and turning silvery
In moonlight,

I watch leaves falling, like
Life’s fading leaves, my youth blown away
With autumn breath,

I watch leaves falling, summer
Green changing to autumn’s golden sheen
Hastening decay in nature’s beauty,

I watch leaves falling, a leafless
Tree reminding life’s gloomy days, friendless,
Cheerless and dim old age,

I watch leaves falling
To ground, turning my heart of love
Lonely and green leaves browned,

I watch leaves falling, baring
My heart cold and dry, till spring winds sigh
As young hopes live and old die,

I watch leaves falling, with
Drooping flowers racing toward stream, perhaps
To a downy nest for ultimate rest,

Oh leaves, stop falling day and night
Hoping next day dawn serenely bright, usher in
A glorious day that will carry gloom away.......

DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/autumn-10-short-poems/
